00:00 In this week’s CCJ Tech Shorts, we’ll take a look at a fleet management software’s integration with a heavy-duty truck and trailer repair shop software, a new calculator that automates carbon data reporting and more.

00:24 Public accounting and consulting firm Forvis Mazars has launched a tech-enabled profitability analysis and network management consulting service line for its trucking industry clients.

Underpinning the service line is a new tool, Freight Network Navigator, that will help middle-market carriers identify potential areas for improvement to enhance profitability. Through operational and financial data analysis, carriers can have clear insights into their network, from a geographic view, down to the individual customer lane and load level.

Forvis Mazars senior managing consultant Chuck Jorgenson, who is heading up the service, said, “By identifying areas of underperformance and creating targeted, actionable plans, we can help companies drive profitability, streamline operations, and stay competitive in today’s rapidly changing market.”

01:15 Tai Software, a TMS designed for freight brokers, has partnered with RoadSync, a tech company that specializes in freight payment solutions, to enhance overall productivity for freight brokers and third-party logistics providers by improving payment processing and simplifying back-office operations.

RoadSync’s technology enables digital payments in under 60 seconds, significantly reducing the turnaround time between carrier invoice and final settlement. When integrated with Tai’s TMS, brokers gain seamless synchronization of carrier profiles, automatic payment recording, and instant shipment data integration. These features help eliminate costly and time-consuming reconciliation challenges, minimize manual data entry and offer visibility into potential issues up front.

02:02 Fullbay, a turnkey platform that aims to improve the operational efficiency of heavy-duty repair shops, is launching an integration with fleet management software platform Whip Around. The integration aims to better meet the needs of both independent repair shops and fleets with an internal maintenance team by syncing data between the shops’ fleet management software and the Fullbay platform.

The integration streamlines the transfer of fleet driver vehicle inspection report defect data between the fleet and the shop to automatically create service requests. This process saves time for fleet managers and shop employees, reducing manual entry and ensuring faster and more accurate repairs.

Whip Around CEO Noah Hickey said, "By integrating Whip Around's inspection and defect tracking capabilities with Fullbay's powerful repair management platform, we're empowering fleets to minimize downtime and maximize productivity like never before. This allows our customers to focus on running their businesses while keeping their vehicles safe and compliant.”

03:03 LTL freight transportation technology provider SMC³ has rolled out a new emissions calculator, available within its Cost Intelligence System. Designed to standardize Scope 3 emissions reporting for the LTL industry, the calculator automates carbon data reporting and helps industry stakeholders more effectively track and achieve sustainable freight transportation goals.

Report-ready data exports meet the transportation supply chain’s needs for indirect carbon emissions disclosures, increasingly important to a growing number of shippers. SMC³’s calculator technology enables carriers to report more accurate, shipment-specific data, instead of company aggregate emissions totals. It also readies carriers for California reporting requirements.

This first phase of the calculator will be followed with additional enhancements later this year as SMC³ gathers feedback from carriers, shippers and industry stakeholders.
