00:00 This week’s CCJ Tech Shorts highlights a new freight matching platform, a partnership to improve driver safety and more.
00:20 Loadsmart has launched ShipperGuide Marketplace, an on-demand platform that connects shippers with a trusted network of carriers to automatically match freight with full truckload capacity.
When a shipper posts their shipment details in Marketplace, including origin, destination and freight type, the system automatically provides FTL rates that can be quickly booked. Brokers and carriers within the network set pre-defined pricing and service conditions, and the Marketplace’s pricing engine automatically matches shipments with coverage that fits the defined criteria. This automates the bidding process, speeding up the entire spot quoting process for both parties.
Key features of ShipperGuide Marketplace include instant pricing and booking; automation of manual tasks like calling and emailing; a diverse carrier network; and scalability.
ShipperGuide helps shippers save money while connecting brokers and carriers with new business opportunities.
01:16 Fleet optimization platform Fleetio has developed its first map add-in for Geotab’s MyGeotab platform. The add-in enables mutual customers to quickly direct drivers to preferred vendors within Fleetio’s maintenance shop network without leaving MyGeotab.
Fleetio’s maintenance shop network connects fleets with tens of thousands of national, independent and mobile service providers to automate and expedite the repair approval process and get real-time visibility into outsourced maintenance activity.
The add-in helps fleet managers and dispatchers coordinate service, reduce downtime and view preferred shop options based on a vehicle’s current location.
Key features include shop search by proximity; preferred shops filtering; access to shop details; and improved maintenance coordination, which directs drivers to approved shops from MyGeotab, allowing them to complete repair order approvals automatically in Fleetio.
02:11 In a new partnership, Smith System Driver Improvement Institute’s comprehensive library of over 200 online lessons will be directly integrated into Embark Safety's MVR Monitoring platform.
With this new partnership, Embark Safety clients will have access to Smith System’s educational content designed to address critical areas of fleet safety, including distracted driving, defensive driving techniques and effective driver behavior management.
This allows managers to monitor driver performance and intervene earlier with targeted, data-driven training, empowering them to mitigate risks before they lead to collisions, fines or other costly consequences.
02:51 Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America has signed an agreement to promote Seeing Machines’ Guardian Generation 3 driver monitoring solution across the Americas. Mitsubishi Electric Mobility Corporation’s investment in Seeing Machines late last year gave the company access to MEAA’s extensive aftermarket distribution network and customer relationships in the transport and logistics industries.
This collaboration aims to enhance road safety by expanding the reach of Guardian Generation 3, an AI-powered system designed to detect and mitigate driver distraction and fatigue in commercial vehicles.
Guardian Generation 3 is an aftermarket driver monitoring system that uses advanced computer monitoring technology to track signs of distraction and drowsiness in real time. The system alerts drivers locally through visible and audible warnings, as well as haptic feedback via a vibration unit installed under the seat. In critical situations, the technology goes a step further, capturing event-based footage and transmitting it to a live monitoring center, where trained analysts can intervene within seconds by contacting fleet managers or designated personnel. Unlike continuously monitored in-cab cameras, Guardian only records when a safety event is detected, addressing privacy concerns while providing fleets with crucial risk mitigation data.
