Texas-based carrier shut down following fatal crash, safety violations
An FMCSA review of one-truck Koboat Trucking found the carrier to be “egregiously noncompliant” with multiple safety regulations, FMCSA said. Also: Volvo trucks recalled for cabinet mounting issue; small number of Cascadias recalled for brakes issue.

EPA proposes new emissions standards for heavy-duty trucks

In 2021, in stark contrast to most recent years, a majority of all audits that concluded with a safety rating ended with the carrier getting a Conditional rating. Ratings and audits continued to decline, with Satisfactory ratings in ever-shorter supply.
