The number of truck-involved crashes and subsequent injuries and tow-aways increased in the year and a half the more restrictive 2013 hours-of-service rules were in effect, according to a study released April 29 by the American Transportation Research Institute.

House bill clarifies 34-hour restart rules suspension period, bars FMCSA from increasing carrier liability minimums
A bill introduced in the U.S. House this week would is passed further entrench the suspension of certain 2013 hours-of-service rules and block the DOT from proceeding with a rule to increase the minimum amount of liability insurance required of motor carriers.
