FMCSA reinstates KSK ELD
Just over a week after revoking the ELD certification of the KSK ELD, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration on Sept. 22 reinstated the device to its list of Registered Devices.
Motor carriers and drivers who had used the KSK ELD device are now permitted to continue its use.
At the time of the revocation, FMCSA said the device, along with the Falcon ELD, did not meet the minimum requirements established in 49 CFR part 395, subpart B, appendix A (functional specifications for ELDs).
KSK ELD that day told CCJ that FMCSA’s revocation was a “mistake.”

ATA’s charity arm, TXTA donate to children’s medical foundation
The Trucking Cares Foundation and the Texas Trucking Association Foundation are partnering to support the Dell Children's Foundation. Together, the Foundations seek to raise $50,000 for the Austin-based charity, which is located in this year’s host city for ATA’s 2023 Management Conference & Exhibition.
The Dell Children's Foundation helps to ensure that no child is ever turned away from receiving the world-class medical care provided by Dell Children’s Medical Center. Roughly 70% of Dell Children’s patients are under-insured or uninsured. Every dollar donated via TCF and TXTA will go directly to Dell Children’s Foundation. This fundraising initiative will conclude the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 17th, the last day of MCE.
Dell Children’s offers a free-standing children’s hospital in Austin and over 90 specialty care locations across central Texas. Families have access to more than 270 pediatric specialists and care teams in 39 pediatric specialties. Dell Children’s Medical Center also has 24/7 pediatric emergency care and the highest level of trauma and surgical care in their Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Surgery Center.
