Buyers beware, says a report on CCJ sister site Overdrive, in which the NADA and used truck history report site RigDig urges truck buyers to be wary of buying a truck flooded in Hurricane Sandy in the coming months.
Dealers often try to conceal facts like that from buyers, but inspecting a truck closely upon purchase for water, grit, mud in odd places, water residue and suspicious corrosion can help buyers steer clear of Sandy-damaged trucks, as can running the truck’s VIN with a site like RigDig, which tracks total loss insurance claims, junk and salvage vehicles and more.
