Pegasus TransTech announced it has been named the 2012 Small Business of the Year from the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce in Florida. Pegasus TransTech Corp. provides software solutions that help companies go paperless to reduce costs, improve operating efficiency and speed cash flow.

The award was announced Sept. 28 during a ceremony held at the Tampa Convention Center and was accepted by Bob Helms, Pegasus TransTech’s chief executive officer and chairman.

“We’re delighted to receive this award and very proud of the recognition it represents,” Helms said. “We’re also proud to be part of the Tampa business community that stands tall among the giant business centers of the nation.” Helms thanked his dedicated and talented staff. “Companies don’t win awards, people do,” he said.

Since Pegasus TransTech was formed in 1998, the company has provided Transflo document management solutions and scanning services designed to streamline billing, collections, payroll, accounts payable and other paper-intensive processes for the transportation and logistics industry.

The 2012 Small Business of the Year Awards honored Tampa businesses employing fewer than 250 people. To be considered for the award, a Tampa business had to participate in a three-step judging process that spanned over an eight-month period. Companies were evaluated on financial success, community involvement and ethical business practices.
