The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration on Friday, Sept. 14, announced that it has ordered commercial truck company HP Distribution and an affiliated company, HP Distribution LLC, to shut down following a review of the Kansas-based company’s operations that uncovered extensive drivers’ hours-of-service violations.

The agency said its investigators discovered that HP Distribution knowingly permitted its drivers to falsify the number of hours they operated the vehicle in an attempt to conceal HOS violations, and also dispatched potentially fatigued drivers on interstate trips.

This case sends a clear message that we will use every tool at our disposal to identify and remove from our roads unsafe truck and bus companies,” said FMCSA Administrator Anne Ferro. “Our agency is committed to raising the bar for commercial vehicle and driver safety.”
