Phillips Industries announced that its Manufactura Zapaliname facility located in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, has been selected to receive Daimler Trucks North America’s Masters of Quality Award for 2011. In operation since 2007, Saltillo now joins Phillips’ California facility, which has won the award three times, in meeting DTNA’s high quality standards. Phillips’ Saltillo plant supplies DTNA with air and electrical system components.

DTNA presents the Masters of Quality Award annually to an elite group of suppliers that meet its rigorous standards and also show a commitment for continual improvement. Daimler’s suppliers are evaluated semi-annually on more than 100 criteria related to quality, service, aftermarket parts availability, engineering, warranty and purchasing; only those rated at the top are recognized with this award.

“Opening the facility in Saltillo has turned out to be a significant move for our company,” says Rob Phillips, vice president of global operations. “The people there have met all our expectations, and obviously those of customers – it is reflected in this latest quality award. Phillips Industries always takes pride in receiving DTNA’s quality recognition, and we’re very pleased that the Saltillo site has now been included as a recipient. We will continue to improve and grow this operation to meet the growing global demand for Phillips products.”
