Eaton Corp. has published a new educational fact sheet on hybrid-electric power systems for commercial trucks with information to help fleets determine whether the technology is the correct platform for their operation. The one-page two-sided color document (HYWP0001) is available free at www.roadranger.com.

“More and more of our potential hybrid customers had been asking us for a good resource to best determine the appropriateness of a hybrid system for their fleet,” says Kevin Snow, Eaton chief engineer of hybrid applications and integration. “With fuel costs once again soaring, the timing of the document’s release should be especially well-received.”

Titled “Is hybrid power right for your vehicle, your fleet?”, the document covers appropriate applications, jobsite operation time, stop densities, appropriate vehicle speeds, proper driving techniques, warranty information and more. It also lists key specification information for Eaton hybrid systems.

The document also spells out Eaton resources available for specifications and service assistance, determining ROI, calculating fuel consumption, calculating weight and grade requirements, determining engine approvals, accessing Website assistance, and onsite and after-the-sales support provided by Roadranger representatives in North America.
