Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems has named Todd Swales as its director of fleet sales. In this newly created position, Swales will oversee the company’s relationships with its fleet customers, from introducing them to new Bendix products and modifications to anticipating their needs and identifying new business opportunities.

“By creating the director of fleet sales position, we are renewing and increasing our focus to serve the needs of our fleet customers, as well as establishing a ‘voice of the customer’ within Bendix,” says Joe McAleese, Bendix president and chief executive officer. “Relationships with our fleet customers go beyond helping them improve vehicle safety. By understanding each organization’s specific business needs and concerns, Bendix helps its customers build safer and better-performing fleets – spurring industry improvement and creating safer highways.”

As director of fleet sales, Swales will build and maintain Bendix’s relationships with its fleet customers. He will direct all aspects of fleet business activities, including purchasing, maintenance, finance and warranty and customer service. He also will manage the introduction of new Bendix products to its fleet customers and oversee the process of familiarizing fleet customers with modifications to existing Bendix products.

Prior to joining Bendix, Swales spent nine years at Meritor, serving as manager of field sales and service for Meritor Wabco since 2010. His other positions at Meritor included senior manager of global customer satisfaction and product line manager.
