Dupré Logistics announced that it will receive the Contractor Safety Excellence Award from Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. at the CPChem Contractor Safety Forum on May 31.

The award – to be presented to Dupré by Peter Cella, Chevron Phillips Chemical president and chief executive officer – recognizes contractor companies that have achieved outstanding safety performance while working at CPChem facilities during the 2011 award year.

“At Dupré, our leadership and safety teams evaluate our performance and pursue continuous safety innovation,” says Al LaCombe, Dupré safety director. “To be recognized by our clients means that our programs are working from their perspective as well as ours.”

Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. selects contractors for the Safety Excellence Award from among those who meet all of the following criteria:
• At or below CPChem’s corporatewide total recordable incidence rate (TRIR) safety target for combined employees and contractors performance for the award year;
• Not experienced a recordable injury/illness that resulted in in-patient hospitalization with medical treatment beyond first aid at a CPChem or affiliate facility; and
• Not experienced a recordable injury/illness that resulted in days of restricted duty or days away from work at a CPChem or affiliate facility.
