Comdata Corporation, a provider of payment systems, announced a milestone by installing its 500th Smart Solutions point-of-sale system. This achievement for the product line signals its acceptance within the retail fuel industry, the company says.

A provider of point-of-sale systems for nearly 20 years, Comdata launched the Smart Solutions product suite in late 2009. The Smart Solutions point-of-sale systems enable store operators to consolidate convenience store, fuel and other profit centers into a single platform. This flexibility allows stores to create operational efficiencies that improve both performance and throughput, the company says.

PCI PA-DSS compliant, Smart Solutions is fully configurable and integrated with multiple payment types, including the leading fleet cards.

The 500th installation took place at a QuikTrip location in Adairsville, Georgia. “We are excited to celebrate this achievement with Comdata,” said Roy Brockmeier, corporate operations program manager for QuikTrip. “Smart Solutions has delivered key benefits to our locations, chief among them the ease of use and simplified training the system provides. We pay a premium to ensure the staff at each of our stores is top-notch, so we are continually seeking solutions like this that enable our team members to be more efficient and truly focused on customer service.”

“Comdata has worked hard to educate the market on the value of the Smart Solutions systems and the ability it provides to manage all transactions, including all revenue centers and fuel purchases, with a single system,” said Steve Stevenson, president of Comdata.
