Accuride Corp. announced a $13 million aluminum wheel capacity expansion plan. The plan entails the addition of aluminum wheel machining and polishing equipment to be located in the company’s facilities in Erie, Pa., and Monterrey, Mexico.

“Accuride’s strategic focus on further developing our core product offering and market penetration of these products is resulting in a steadily increasing global demand for our aluminum wheels,” says Bill Lasky, Accuride’s president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board. “The addition of aluminum wheel production capability at our Monterrey wheel facility will allow us to meet the increasing product demands of our customer base both inside and outside the NAFTA region.”

Installation of equipment in Monterrey will begin in the first quarter of 2011 with completion anticipated by the third quarter of 2011.
