Peterbilt’s North American Tour continues its journey across North America this summer as it showcases the new Paccar MX engine and Peterbilt’s new Model 587. More than 9,000 transportation company representatives have experienced the trailer at 60 Peterbilt dealer locations since it began in May, with another 40 locations currently scheduled before the tour concludes in December.

“The North American Tour has been extremely successful in bringing exciting new products to our customers highlighting the operational advantages of the Paccar MX engine and the Model 587,” says Bill Jackson, vice president of Paccar and general manager of Peterbilt. “In fact, we have extended the tour two months in order to accommodate the numerous requests from our dealers for additional stops.”

The tour has covered more than 30,000 miles since May, including Canada and the United States. The tour has begun making its eastern trek through North America providing customers a number of opportunities to experience Peterbilt’s new products. Dealers also are showcasing their dealerships or hosting creative events at locations such as the Cleveland Browns stadium to educate and entertain their customers.

The trailer is pulled by a new Model 587 with a Paccar MX engine, which was launched earlier this year and is available in Peterbilt’s complete line of aerodynamic and vocational products. The tour also features SmartNav, a system that offers navigation, vehicle diagnostics and communication and entertainment technologies in a touchscreen unit specifically customized for the trucking industry that is integrated seamlessly into the dash. Also featured on the tour are safety technologies such as Bendix ADB22X air disc brakes, the Bendix ESP full stability control system and Bendix Wingman ACB – Active Cruise with Braking.
