DOT submits final rule on texting ban to White House

In response to results from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s distracted driving studies, on Friday, August 27, the U.S. Department of Transportation submitted a final rulemaking to the White House that would ban text messaging while operating a commercial vehicle.

In March, DOT drafted a proposed regulation to limit the use of cell phones and ban text messaging by commercial drivers (click here for story).
