Phillips Industries today, July 12, announced a major expansion of its Electrical Harness Division in Saltillo, Mexico, to more than 70,000 square feet because of skyrocketing quality and delivery metrics that have resulted in significant sales increases since the division was relocated there in 2007. The company says the added space will allow for growth of its trailer harness assembly line, improved process flow and more finished product storage.

As a result of the facility and manufacturing improvements, Phillips Industries says it can produce and offer premade sealed wire harnesses for any application with short lead times. “Significant focus has been in quality and delivery performance areas, as well as applying lean manufacturing and operating principles,” says Filiberto Coello, general manager of the Electrical Products Division. “With more than 100 Kaizan events behind us, our customers have felt the positive impact, and we need more room to keep up.”
