Pegasus TransTech announced that it has launched new Transflo Express self-service scan station kiosks in selected Pilot Travel Center locations. The new service will provide drivers an additional option for scanning their delivery documents on the road. Pegasus TransTech also announced that Pilot Travel Centers has signed a 10-year extension to its exclusive truckstop scanning agreement with Pegasus TransTech.

Adding the new kiosk scanning service will allow drivers the flexibility of two different scanning options: 1) cashier-assisted scanning at the fuel desk, or 2) self-service scanning using the kiosk station to perform their own scanning without the assistance of a cashier. “Most drivers are fully capable of scanning and transmitting their own documents,” says Bob Helms, chairman and chief executive officer of Pegasus TransTech. “Many have requested that option to get their scan work done at their own pace and get back on the road. The Transflo Express Kiosk provides that option.”

Pegasus TransTech has offered cashier-assisted Transflo Express truckstop scanning since July 2002. This service currently is offered at all Pilot locations nationwide as well as hundreds of other truckstops. With Transflo Express cashier-assisted services, drivers hand their trip documents to a trained cashier for scanning. Just like the standard Transflo Express services, the kiosk service also is available 24/7 and transmits the delivery documents electronically to the carrier for immediate access to billing and payroll documents, allowing fleets and drivers to get paid faster.

“Transflo Express is one of the more popular nonfuel services we offer our customers and has increased traffic in our travel centers,” says Scott Wombold, Pilot’s vice president of national accounts and wholesale fuel. “We are excited about offering this new service that gives drivers an additional option when scanning their paperwork.”

“Like Transflo Express, the new self-service kiosk scanning will help fleets of all sizes reduce operating costs, improve driver satisfaction, speed cash flow and grow without adding staff,” says Frank Adelman, senior vice president of Pegasus TransTech. “This new service continues our commitment to bring to market new and innovative methods to improve operations for drivers and fleets. Extending our partnership with Pilot will ensure that fleets continue to benefit for many years to come from same-day access to delivery documents.”
