A. Duie Pyle was the recipient of Compass Minerals’ 2009-2010 Service Excellence Award during an awards banquet at the corporate office of Compass Minerals. Pyle was one of out of about 350 logistics providers eligible to receive the award. The selection process included a two-step panel review process where the merits of award winners were evaluated on the basis of consistent service excellence, along with innovation and logistics solutions.
“With the winter weather variability of our ice control products, Pyle’s flexibility and integration have become an instrumental part of our Northeast distribution strategy,” says Bob Ledford, director for strategic logistics and sourcing at Compass Minerals. “Pyle ensures a reliable one-stop shop for integrated transportation and distribution services. For us, that means a combination of warehousing with indoor rail-siding, and transportation services that include both van and flatbed – all from a single service provider.”
