The Truck Renting and Leasing Association has appointed Allen Serfas, vice president Enterprise Commercial Trucks, as 2010-2011 chairman. Andy Stopka, vice president of maintenance for NationaLease, has been appointed chairman of TRALA’s Equipment Technology Advisory Council.

Serfas has served in TRALA’s leadership for the past several years, guiding its direction through his chairmanship of the Finance Committee and Governance Committee. As a senior executive at Enterprise Commercial Trucks, his business success has been founded on an in-depth understanding of the industry and its customers’ needs.

“TRALA’s first priority is advocacy with governments at all levels, and Allen Serfas has long been engaged in the pursuit of industrywide legislative and regulatory priorities,” says Thomas James, TRALA president and chief executive officer. “In his new leadership capacity at TRALA, he will be particularly well positioned to affect the critical issues impacting our industry in Washington D.C., as well as in Jefferson City and other state capitols.”

James says TRALA is pleased to have Stopka assume an important role for the industry. “Truck renting and leasing places more than 35 percent of all new commercial trucks on the road and is a leader in providing state-of-the-art truck maintenance to its customers,” James says. “Andy’s experience and leadership will be critical as the council addresses EPA emissions rules, the continued rapid growth in contract maintenance, new programs for technician training and recruitment, and a wide variety of vehicle technology and safety issues. With Andy leading the council, I am confident that the ETAC will continue to drive positive changes throughout our industry.”

ETAC is comprised of maintenance and equipment experts from leasing systems and independent companies that are members of TRALA.
