J.J. Keller & Associates is teaming up with the Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity to build a two-bedroom house for a family in Appleton, Wis. The project is J.J. Keller’s seventh associate build home that will be completed in conjunction with the Greater Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity.

“We are pleased to be able to come alongside Dawn and her family to build a house that they can call home,” says James Keller, J.J. Keller president and chief operating officer. “It means a lot to all of us, especially our associates, to help people achieve their dreams and have an opportunity to build a future.”

Beginning April 27, more than 50 associates from J.J. Keller will be working alongside Habitat crew members to build the home. Each crew will consist of four to eight J.J. Keller associates, a site leader and contractors assigned by Habitat, and members of the family who will own the house. The project is expected to be completed by the end of July.

The future homeowner, Dawn Hagen, is a customer service representative for a local business services company and formerly was employed as a production artist. Hagen and her two daughters are looking forward to having a home that is well-insulated and secure. “Owning a Habitat home means a warm place to call my own,” Dawn says. “The kids are excited to paint. I am excited to finally have a real home and security for myself and my children.”

The project was initiated with a $75,000 grant from the John J. and Ethel D. Keller Donor Advised Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region Inc. In addition, associates at J.J. Keller are contributing to the build through participation in numerous fund-raising events.
