Descartes Systems Group announced that McLeod Software has joined Descartes’ United by Design program to offer broader services to its truck carrier brokerage and shipper community throughout North America. Combined with Descartes’ federated Global Logistics Network and value-added applications for the trucking and freight brokerage industry, McLeod now can offer additional solutions to its customers to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency, including electronic data interchange messaging, customs filing and compliance solutions.
In addition, the combined logistics community formed by McLeod and Descartes’ user base now can work together to automate and standardize multiparty business processes for the transportation industry and share critical information to accelerate productivity improvements and cost savings, according to the companies; the combination accelerates implementation times, the rate of cost savings and productivity improvements for end users.
