FleetRisk Advisors has acquired Safety Management Solutions, which helps companies develop productive and safe workplace cultures in a variety of business sectors, including manufacturing, distribution, sales and mobile services. FleetRisk Advisors says the merger, terms of which were not disclosed, strengthens its position as a provider of predictive analytics and decision support technology for the transportation and logistics industry.

FleetRisk says the acquisition will allow it to significantly expand the scope of offerings delivered through its flagship safety management platform, The Driving Center. “The merger gives current SMS customers access to cutting-edge technology and systems, and provides current FleetRisk customers with additional subject matter expertise and much broader domain expertise,” says James Kaletta, president of SMS. “We view becoming a part of FleetRisk a ‘win-win’ for our customers, employees and the future.”

FleetRisk plans to integrate all SMS safety programs into its existing suite of predictive models for commercial driving risks which include, workers compensation risks, safety awareness, hiring and retention, on-line training, and automated intervention and countermeasures.

“The SMS team has built an impeccable reputation across a broad cross-section of the commercial safety marketplace,” says Sam Wilkes, chief executive officer of FleetRisk Advisors. “This merger allows FleetRisk to continue to expand our technology offerings while at the same time provide our customers with the broad level of in-depth professional skills and expertise to use this technology productively.”
