Menlo Worldwide Logistics has named a Hong Kong native Gary So to the position of managing director for North Asia, responsible for mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. An industry professional with more than 23 years of experience in Asia, So will lead Menlo as it develops locally designed solutions for the China market that are both operationally effective and economically competitive.

So’s experience includes serving as director of China startup operations for Kerry Logistics, a business development executive with NYK Logistics and a business process improvement consultant with LLA Pacific (now merged with PricewaterhouseCoopers). His earliest positions were with Lufthansa German Airlines and TNT Logistics, where he focused on risk management, network management and strategic business development.

“We are delighted to have Gary on board, and excited about the opportunity for him to take Menlo to the next level of growth and service excellence in greater China,” says Todd Johnson, vice president of international operations for Menlo Worldwide Logistics. “Rapid market growth requires leaders who provide clarity and control, with a bias toward action as they focus resources towards their customers’ success. We know that Gary So is this type of leader and expect our clients to benefit accordingly.”
