Cadec Global, a provider of advanced fleet management solutions, announced that it has partnered with Aeris Communications Inc. to offer new integrated and optimized nationwide cellular data services for its customers. Designed to improve communications for Cadec’s On-Board Computers (OBCs), the Aeris cellular network provides a seamless, single point of connectivity, with unparalleled reliability, security and support for the transportation industry, the companies say.

Aeris operates North America’s largest wireless network service, developed exclusively to deliver Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications to millions of devices, billions of times a year. Through its relationships with more than 40 cellular providers, Aeris offers complete CDMA coverage of North America. Cellular data services are crucial for Cadec customers because they enable Cadec OBCs to exchange data with back-office applications such as routing, inventory and payroll. Typically the top considerations when selecting a service provider are geographic coverage, connection speed and cost.

“The Aeris network is optimized for M2M telematics applications such as ours, and because it’s geographically comprehensive, no roaming is needed,” says Doug Frank, vice president of professional services for Cadec, based in Manchester, N.H. “In offering the Aeris cellular data network to our customers, Cadec now provides the most advanced communications platform in the industry.”

“Trucking fleets have different cellular data needs than most other types of businesses,” says Mark Cratsenburg, vice president of sales and marketing at Aeris Communications. “Having served this industry for the past 12 years, we’re very familiar with the challenges and requirements. We’re very pleased to be working with Cadec to bring value-added solutions to market.”
