Greatwide Logistics Services announced it has achieved the highest score given by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay program, 1.25. The rating represents outstanding environmental performance and shows that Greatwide utilizes commercially available fuel-saving strategies and actively evaluates the latest technologies.

“Greatwide’s long-standing partnership with EPA’s SmartWay shows our customers, owner-operators and employees how seriously we take our commitment to environmental stewardship,” says Raymond Greer, chief executive officer of Dallas-based Greatwide Logistics Services. “After joining the SmartWay Transport Partnership several years ago, we began developing the Greatearth companywide initiative to promote environmentally-conscious practices in every aspect of our business. We look forward to continuing this work with our excellent teams of engineers and drivers and doing everything we can for a Greatearth. The entire Greatwide team is committed to continuing to work through SmartWay and Greatearth to be as energy-efficient and carbon-minimizing as possible.”

Greatwide became a SmartWay Transport Partner in 2006 and has increased its Shipper Index Factor (SIF) to the top 1.25 rating since joining the EPA program. “As a major logistics provider, we clearly understand the critical importance of this partnership among government, business and consumers to protect the environment, reduce fuel consumption and improve air quality for future generations,” Greer says.
