GE Capital Solutions Fleet Services announced today, April 7, that it has been awarded the Blue Seal of Excellence from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) for the 10th year. ASE, the industry-leading certification program for automotive professionals, awards the Blue Seal of Excellence to businesses that showcase highly qualified repair facilities and commitment to excellent services. Recipients have to maintain a staff certification level of at least 75 percent.

“We are proud to receive the Blue Seal of Excellence,” says Eric Strom, maintenance and safety product manager for GE Capital Solutions Fleet Services, based in Eden Prairie, Minn. “GE thrives on providing the best-in-class technical support services to our fleet customers. Our technical advisers have passed one or more of ASE’s stringent 40-plus repair industry-developed exams and have met requirements of relevant work experience.”

In addition to ASE-certified advisers, GE Capital Solutions Fleet Services says its maintenance team includes certified Master Automobile Technicians and Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technicians. The elite Automobile Master Certification consists of seven tests, and the Medium/Heavy Truck series contains eight tests; Master certification requires passing all tests within the test series. To maintain ASE and Master certification, advisers must be retested every five years.

Since 1972, ASE’s mission is to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service through the testing and certification of repair and service professionals. The ASE certification is seen as the standard measure of competency and a guide to quality auto repairs; at present, about 400,000 professionals hold current certifications. They work in every segment of the automotive service industry: car and truck dealerships, independent garages, fleets, service stations, franchises and more.
