Interstate Distributor Co. is integrating DriverTech DTScan In-Cab Scanning systems into its fleet, a first in the transportation industry, DriverTech announced today, June 9.

DriverTech says that by using DTScan, Interstate Distributor Co. can:

“Bringing in-cab scanning right into the tractor is a win-win-win for our drivers, our customers and IDC,” says George Payne, chief executive officer of Tacoma, Wash.-based Interstate.

DriverTech, designers of the Windows XP-embedded onboard computing system, partnered with Interstate Distributor Co. in 2006. “When we decided to move forward with DriverTech as a mobilecom replacement, in-cab scanning was one of the applications that we identified as a revolutionary tool that would benefit our drivers as well as our customers,” Payne says.

DriverTech says its DTScan In-Cab Scanning solution is the world’s first production-level scan-and-capture technology for truck cabs utilizing Visioneer OneTouch scanners with Kofax VRS technology. According to the company, the highly intuitive and easy-to-use system provides “Forms Recognition Friendly” documents that meet professional imaging standards at a reduced image size, thereby resulting in smaller data transmissions and faster processing into integrated back-office enterprise systems.

“Needless to say, we are pleased and highly satisfied to have such a well-respected leader in the transportation industry as our first DTScan customer,” says Mark Haslam, chief executive officer of Salt Lake City-based DriverTech. “We believe so firmly in the benefits of our technology, but it’s always welcome to have the endorsement and satisfaction of one of our customers.”
