J.J. Keller & Associates is offering a free download of its latest webcast, “Avoiding Negligent Supervision: Getting Started, the First 90 Days and Beyond.” The webcast, presented in partnership with the National Private Truck Council, addresses how companies can better communicate with new hires to reduce turnover, improve operations and minimize exposure to liability.

Presenters of the webcast, originally held on Dec. 8, include Gary Petty, president and chief executive officer of the NPTC; Rick Schweitzer, general counsel, NPTC; Al Jankauskas, associate director of transportation operations, Kraft Foods; and Mark Weaver, safety consultant, J.J. Keller.

“This is a great opportunity to review real issues companies must face,” says Weaver. “The procedures we suggest can help companies drastically reduce turnover, not to mention improve their safety records and reduce risk.”

The presentation covers the nature of negligent supervision, the different types of negligent supervision claims and how regulatory compliance can assist in defending such claims. Presenters explain how webcast participants can set a baseline for new employees, and discuss the importance of establishing written policies and procedures. The presenters also outline specific orientation, supervision and communication techniques used to get new employees off to the right start.
