John R. Schaaf has been named senior vice president of operations for Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, responsible for directing the company’s sales, service, parts and distribution operations. Schaaf, formerly regional vice president of the company’s western market, takes over for Robert E. McDowell, who recently was promoted to president and chief executive officer of MFTA.
Schaaf has more than 30 years of experience in the truck industry, having worked for Mercedes-Benz and Isuzu before joining MFTA in October 1994. “John has been instrumental in MFTA’s development and growth over the years,” McDowell says. “We’re looking forward to having his organizational skills and experience guiding our operations.”
Headquartered in Logan Township, N.J., MFTA markets diesel-powered, medium-duty cab-over trucks through more than 170 dealer locations across the United States and Canada.
