Ralph and Sara Bundy, owner-operators with Landstar-Ranger and December’s Trucker Buddies of the Month, send daily e-mails and a weekly postcard to J.P. Robinson’s third-grade class at Oneida Elementary School in Oneida, Ky.
The Bundys, who adopted the class in March 2005, are two of almost 4,000 professional drivers who share their time with elementary classes around the world. They will receive a personalized jacket, a check for $300 to spend on the class, $200 in Trucker Buddy merchandise, an IdleAire adaptor, a Koolatron cooler, a complete set of Airtabs for their tractor-trailer, Donde Publishing’s “For the Long Haul” reference guide for drivers, and an accident photo pack.
The class will receive a CrossCountry USA game from Ingenuity Works. The only criteria to be a Trucker Buddy is to be a truck driver and be able to send a postcard each week to a class in grades two through eight. Find out more by calling 800-692-8339 or by going to www.truckerbuddy.org.
