Peterson Manufacturing – which produces vehicle safety lighting, mirrors, reflectors, antennas and related products – says it employed the latest white diode technology to design its Great White LED back-up light, a 4-inch-round light designed for working trucks and trailers.
According to Peterson, features and benefits of the light – labeled the 417C/418C Series – include:

Ultra-bright white diodes and custom-cut optics that produce a brilliant rectangular light pattern that exceeds DOT specifications by 25 percent.
Hard-wired terminals potted in polyurethane that shield the lamp from moisture and corrosion.
Linear welds that provide a more robust, hermetic seal.
Skirted weld-joints to provide greater protection against tough roads, weather and chemicals.
Shallower-depth light dimension to allow greater flexibility to fit the lamp in tight spaces.
A molded two-wire female PL-3 plug for easier installation or quicker retrofits.
