ALK Technologies — a developer of routing, mileage and mapping software — has announced that its ALK|FleetSuite Tolls module has been integrated with the Fuel&Route component of the Carrier Management solution from Manhattan Associates, a supply chain and fleet management solutions provider. The companies say the integrated product establishes a new level of routing efficiency for truckload and longhaul fleets.
ALK|FleetSuite Tolls is designed to provide accurate toll costs, either before a trip to anticipate costs or afterward to verify expenses. The application includes up-to-date data from nearly 1,000 toll plazas in 31 states, 112 toll authorities and 232 roads, bridges and tunnels with down-to-the-penny accuracy, according to the company.
Manhattan Associates’ Fuel&Route weighs a number of parameters, including driver preferences, to generate efficient routes optimized to take advantage of fuel price differences at individual truck stops and fuel outlets. The integration with ALK|FleetSuite Tolls now enables Fuel&Route to fold accurate toll costs into those route calculations.
