DaimlerChrysler Services North America has donated a 2006 Freightliner M2 truck with an 18-foot refrigerated van body to Forgotten Harvest, a Michigan organization that delivers perishable foods to those in need.

Susan Goodell, Forgotten Harvest executive director, accepted the keys to the vehicle from Klaus Entenmann, DaimlerChrysler Services North America president and CEO, in a surprise presentation on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

The new truck, which can move six million pounds of food annually, will be used initially to transport relief supplies to Hurricane Katrina evacuees that have moved to southeast Michigan.

To date, DaimlerChrysler Services and its employees have donated more than $300,000 to the American Red Cross to aid victims of Katrina.
