The Agricultural and Food Transporters Conference of the American Trucking Associations announced that it supports the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) now pending before Congress because it would expand U.S. agricultural exports and put U.S. agriculture on equal footing with its competitors.

The proposed CAFTA Agreement will create a free trade area covering the United States, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua. The recently completed free trade agreement with the Dominican Republic will be submitted for approval by Congress along with CAFTA.
