International Truck and Engine has added a sleeper cab option to its 5900i Series.
“Customers enjoy having options, and International specializes in delivering options that fit their needs,” said Bill Sixsmith, director of International severe service marketing. “International prides itself on listening to customers.”
The International 5900i is a classic long-nose truck. Its sleeper cab is 58 inches from ceiling to floor and 70 inches wide, with 18 inches between the driver and the steering wheel.
The cab also has a wraparound windshield and an optional larger rear window. Other features include wood grain dashboard and wing panel and an optional leather-wrapped wood grain steering wheel.
The sleeper option is not the only thing new to the International 5900i models in 2005.
“We are pleased to offer customers the opportunity to choose Caterpillar ACERT engines for their International trucks,” Sixsmith said.
The International 5900i’s severe service 12.25-inch frame system has one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios in the industry. An optional 10.88-inch single frame rail is available for on/off-highway tractors and transfer dumps.
International also is updating its integrated dump truck program so that dealers can use a national network of body upfitters to find trucks and parts more easily and spec out a complete dump truck.
Customers will have one warranty location for the truck, the body and all related equipment. A second-year chassis warranty will be added to an International integrated dump. The dump body and associated hydraulic cylinder have a three-year warranty.
