Truck brake systems actually liquefy the moisture that’s already in the outside air. Resulting water in the air system will interact with compressor oil to play havoc with brake system parts, especially the air control valves. In winter, brake air systems that aren’t protected properly from moisture often freeze up. So you need an efficient air dryer with a desiccant that squeezes moisture out until system air is well above its dew point.
