The American Trucking Associations, the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association, the New Jersey Motor Truck Association and Roadway Express last month sued the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, challenging a 300 percent increase in tolls on seven bridges. The lawsuit follows an unsuccessful attempt by the groups to explain to the commission the consequences of such increases. The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court in Philadelphia, focuses on the commission’s failure to justify the reasonableness of the level of the toll increase.
